Popular
club disc jockey Deon Fulton has passed away. He is most popular known on the
club scene as Dj Smoove, Fulton died in a car crash near Sam Levy’s village on
his way home from Helensvale. Dj- Smoove was a resident DJ at the newly opened
club H20 at Sam Levy’s village.
Lydon
Kapuya, club H20 manager, confirmed Fulton’s death stating that the deceased
was driving home alone but lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a ditch
dying on the spot. He said funeral arrangements are yet to be finalized.
In
addition the guest appearances on radio, DJ Smoove also stage tours in Belgium,
Brussels, the United Kingdom and the United States.
His
death comes at a time when he had released his first single and the album was
due to be released next year. The single off the album titled “ DJ Chronicles
Vol featured the reggae dancehall track that featured vocalist Gianna Charles.
The tracks were recorded in Amsterdam, Holland and Brussels, Belgium during his
tour in 2010.
Lately,
Fulton was part of the Universal Music Tour of the United States where the
dreadlocked DJ joined other internationally acclaimed DJ’s.
DJ
Smoove was one of the pursued after mix masters and a genius on the turntables
to emerge from Zimbabwe. Over the years in his career, Fulton has shared the
decks with some of world’s most popular musicians from Jay-Z, Neptunes, Erykah
Bad, Destiny’s Child, as well as DJ’s amongst them, Fatman Scoop, Clue and
Envy.
