5th Dare to Dream women conference and business expo launched!
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: The 5th Economic women conference and business expo brought by Dare to Dream Foundation with Vodacom for 2013 has officially been launched. Dare to Dream Foundation will be hosting another women’s business conference and exhibition on the 11th May 2013 from 8:00am to 5:30 pm at the Golden Jubilee tower, 5th floor.
The Dare to Dream Business Expo & Conference was established in 2008 aiming at empowering Tanzanian women through a variety of ways to not be afraid of dreaming and pursuing their dreams. The conference is for all women including emerging entrepreneurs who are operating their own small to medium sized businesses.
Emelda Mwamanga the President of Dare to Drean Foundation said " This year's theme is Building business beyond tomorrow . If you have not gone into business yourself you will benefit by listening to accomplished and well-learned panelists, and gain marketable tools that will teach you how to turn your passion into a thriving business that in years to come you can be proud of. Tanzanian women are determined to stay competitive despite a harsh economic environment and they aim to build businesses that endure. More than 250 entrepreneurs, professionals, and others who are dreaming of starting their own ventures will be attending the Dare to Dream Conference + Expo hosted by Vodacom. Attendees will listen to several renowned speakers, including author and motivational speaker from Uganda, Ms. Rehmah Kasule, founder and President of CEDA International ; H.E ambassador (rtd) Mwanaidi Sinare Maajar, Partner and advocate at REX attorneys, Joy Nyabongo of Service Excellence and many others.
"The conference will also feature industry leaders who will talk about global opportunities, business technology, marketing, and financing. Some of the topics will include, “ Tips to turn a Small company into a marketable Business, Learn ways women owned businesses gain financing, Building Your customer Base by Tapping Into Growth Communities with Buying Power attracting the perfect customers, Creating loyal customers, and Branding a business how it works & Why it’s important among many other topics." Further stated Ms. Mwamanga.

Herieth Paul is a Tanzanian fashion model who has walked for Diane von Fürstenberg, Lacoste and 3.1 Phillip Lim. She moved to Ottawa, Canada at the age of 14 due to her mother being a diplomat. She was discovered when she went to an open call of Angie's, a model agency based in Ottawa, Canada. She signed with Women 1 management. Paul has appeared in editorials for Vogue Italia magazine and for July 2011 was the cover model of Canadian Elle.

Alek Wek (born 16 April 1977) is a South Sudanese British model who first appeared on the catwalks at the age of 18 in 1995, sparking a career lasting to date. She and some of her family members fled to Britain to escape the civil war in Sudan. She later moved to the United States. She was discovered at an outdoor market in London in 1995 in Crystal Palace, London by a Models 1 scout. Apart from being a model she also designs a range of designer handbags called "Wek 1933", which are available throughout selected Selfridges department stores.
