The nights was
filled with glitz and glamour. Happiness Enock Watimanywa was chosen as Redd’s
Miss Tanzania 2013 at the Milimani City Hall in Dar-Es-Salaam on Saturday
night.
Watimanya 19 who
hails from Dodoma representing Central Zone was given a brand new Toyota IST
car she was also awarded 8m. /cash prize as she beat the other 29 contestants.
Happiness also
holds a degree from the University of Strathclyde in the UK, Happiness will
represent Tanzania in the Miss World Beauty Pageant in 2014.
Latifah Mohamed
of Kigamboni Zone became the first runner while Clara Boya who was representing
Ilala Zone, finished second runner up.
The other two
runners up who were in the top five were Kinodoni Zone’s Lucy Tomeka and
Elizabeth Pert from Eastern Zone. Happiness succeeded in the final contest
after outshining in the photogenic category, which consisted of five constants.
The top model
winner was Narietha Boniface from Temeka Zone, while Prisca Clement
representing Kinodoni became Miss Talent. Clara Boya became Toy Sports Lady,
while Severina Luvinga from Social Welfare College representing High Learning
Institutions Zone was crowned Miss Personality.
Each of the
categories consisted of the five constants that competed in the camp. Mama
Africa Cultural Dance Troupe highlighted the event, a performance by Ugandan’s
very own R&B musician Michael Ross, and our very own Lady Jaydee who
performed her hit song Yahya which was very well received by the audience.
Miss Redd’s
Tanzania couldn’t be there at the event due to the fact that she was presenting
Tanzania in the Beauty Pageant, which was taking place in Bali, Indonesia, she
sent her greetings via video.
