The Tshwane
metro would like to bring in American Singer and Former Destiny’s Child Member Beyoncé
Knowles to South African for next year’s 20th celebrations of
democracy, Beeled reported on Tuesday.
In addition a
report on the planned Dinokeng Festival, scheduled for September 2014 in
Cullinan was handed to the Tshwane Council for approval last week.
The report said
“Beyoncé has a huge number of
supporters and will attract a big audience”.
Likewise, the festival is estimated to cost around R45
Million, would be modeled on the Glastonbury music festival which is held
annually near Somerset in the UK.
Beyoncé, first achieved fame as a member of the R&B
group Destiny’s Child.
Nevertheless music promoter Justin Van Wyk said that she
would not set foot in South Africa for less than R 35 million.
And according to reports “if everything goes according to
plan" the festival would generate marketing exposure worth about R8 billion
and generate income of at least R200 million”
