KENYAN ACTRESS LUPITA NYONG'O MAKES IT BIG IN HOLLYWOOD

Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o became the new Hollywood "It Girl" after she played the object of cruel affection in the movie, "12 Years a Slave." Since her role as Patsey in the movie released last year, she's made rounds in fashion magazines, hobnobbed with celebrities and is considered a breakout star. The Kenyan rising star was part of the Kenyan hit drama series cast 'SHUGA' which aired in many African countries and elevated her status as an actress to be reckoned with.

Lupita is luo (same tribe as Obama's Father), she is also multilingual - speaks English, Luo, Spanish and Italian. She'll next be seen on screen next to Hollywood  superstar 'Lian Neeson'

Born in Mexico during her parent's exile from Kenya, Lupita was later brought back to kenya where she spent her childhood. This young talent is no stranger to the US, she graduated from Hampshire College in Massachusetts, and later graduated from Yale School of Drama in 2012. There's plenty to expect from the East African shooting star.
